Masked off a couple of inches under the rub rail for a blue stripe. Put the first coat on last night and the second one this morning. Thought about not worrying about the strips, but I think it looks better with it. Purchased oil based paint by mistake, but it went over the water based white paint ok.

More Progress on the Seats
Nailed and glued the slats on the top of one of the seats. Just the top of the other one to go now, but I think I am about 6 or 7 nails short! The epoxy for the pad eyes is set now, so will drill and screw them in tonight. Then I've got to install the seats (using velcro maybe), get some rope for the rope handles, sand and epoxy the underside of the side decks (there is still a little of bare timber there), glue in the ports and were just about done.

Pad Eyes
Drilled the oversize holes for the front and rear pad eyes. Will fill with epoxy and then re-drill before screwing them in.

Ready for Deck Varnishing
Drilled the holes for the rope handles and epoxied copper pipe through the holes. Also rounded off the rub rails at the front and rear, and finished sanding the deck ready for varnishing. If the weather is ok tomorrow I'll put on the first coat.

Rub Rail #1 Installed
Put on the first of the two rub rails last night. Will install the other one tonight. Almost out of ring nails, so will have to find some more to use on the seats. Cleaned up most of the epoxy run out, but will have to sand it back after its dry to clean it up properly.

Deck Sanded
Sanded the deck with 80 grit today. Did one side by hand and then tried an orbital sander for the other side. The orbital did a good job with minimal circular marks. Will hand sand with 120 and then 240 next. Also sanded and varnished the other rub rail, as well as varnish the seat slats.

Seat Slats
Sanded all of the slats for one of the seats today and put the first coat of varnish on them. Still have 22 slats for the other seat to go, and also need to cut some 19x19mm Tas Oak to use for the seat cross pieces. I've also got to cut some Tas Oak to use as the seat rails that will be glued to the bottom of the boat.
